Tips To Have The Best Experience At A Gun Show
Whether you’re new to gun shows or have been attending them for years, here are some tips you should know to have the best experience possible!
Before The Show
First of all, be aware of the rules and guidelines for the specific gun show you’re attending. Many of these shows have strict regulations in place to ensure that sales are kept above board. If you’re not sure what those rules are, ask someone who is familiar with the show and who can explain them to you. Next, make sure you are dressed appropriately for the show. You’ll want to be able to easily move around and view the various items on display. Another important thing to remember is that the vendors at the gun show have put a lot of work into displaying their wares and they deserve your respect. Also, be aware of the rules about carrying a firearm into the show. Some states require that you carry a concealed weapon with you, while others prohibit it completely. You’ll want to take your time and really look at the guns and accessories on display before deciding whether to buy them or not. This will save you from being disappointed later on.
During The Show
Gun shows can be intimidating if you don’t know what you’re doing, but there are a few things you can do to make the most of your time and money. Arrive early if you plan to buy anything. This way you can avoid the initial rush and get your first pick of items. Be prepared to haggle with dealers about prices if you want to buy something. They may take a few dollars off if you offer to pay cash instead of credit. If you have kids, bring a sitter so that they don’t cause trouble at the show. You don’t want to be the guy who let his kids run around and grab firearms. Don’t touch guns and knives that are not yours. It’s not worth the risk of hurting someone else or getting into a fight. Check the action for unloading every time you handle a firearm. Never point a gun (even when it’s unloaded) at someone! Also, don’t ask a seller to cut ties or wires on a gun just so you can handle it. That is very rude and it could cost you your life.
After The Show
Once the Gun Show is over and the vendors have packed up their stuff, you have a few options for what to do. If you’ve had a great time at the gun show, you will most likely want to spend some time with your new friends. There are plenty of people who attend the same gun show as you, and you might be able to find some common interests. Just be sure to be polite and respectful to everyone you encounter, so that they will have a positive experience.
